I’ve always had a passion for sport and consider myself lucky as for the past 8 years I have helped young people learn to love sport and exercise through my job as a PE teacher. I’ve tried out a whole range of different activities growing up, from playing in football and hockey teams to playing cricket for Wales at both junior and senior International level. My personal passion over the past 3 years has been running and I have completed everything from obstacle races, 5 and 10km road races to half marathons as well as the Edinburgh marathon in 2016 and most recently the London Marathon this year. They say once you cross the finish line of a challenge it will change your life forever and in my case it certainly did. I have also overcome injury and understand the importance of building strong foundations which enable you to progress towards your goals, sometimes we are looking for a quick fix which isn’t maintainable but through focussed hard work you can build a body and lifestyle that will allow you to achieve your goals.
As you can probably tell I am passionate about the importance of leading a healthy and active lifestyle and am a firm believer in it contributing towards every aspect of your life. Having trained for a variety of different events and challenges whilst working full time means I also understand some of the pressures of everyday life. Sometimes it can seem overwhelming and a little guidance and support can make the world of difference.
